The Vanguard Professional Pool Reel can be used on Indoor Swimming Pools as well as outdoor ones.
If your swimming pool is indoors, typically there isn't enough direct overhead sunshine available to keep the battery charged up. The solution is to use the optional Indoor Electrics Kit. The kit comprises of a wide input AC battery charger and a 20meter (60foot) low voltage DC cable.
The battery charger works in all countries as it has a Universal AC input. The charger simply plugs in to a regular AC power outlet (in the same way something like your TV does). The charger comes with 3 different adaptors to fit popular AC socket types around the world. If your socket type is different, local adaptors can be purchased in most hardware stores to convert your socket type to 1 of the 3 types we supply.
The battery charger is typically located in a relatively dry area often along side the pool pump. Coming from the charger is the 20m long low voltage DC cable which is routed to the reel and clips onto the battery via 2 crocodile clips. Being low voltage AND double isolated from the AC supply, this cable is totally safe for swimming pool environments.
Note: The AC battery charger should be located in a separate area to the swimming pool so that wet swimmers can't touch it or the AC socket. Typically you already have such an area where your pool pump is located. When using the Indoor Electrics Kit, ensure the temperature that the pool reel and charger is used in is between 5dC and 45dC (41dF and 113dF) and that the relative humidity is kept below 85% (non condensing). All well maintained indoor pools will be easily inside these requirements.
