"Solar" Power Assisted Cover Reel
As you'd expect, the Vanguard Professional
is fully remote control as standard.
Using a 2 button key fob, the pool reel can be
controlled from any point around the swimming
pool.
Why have an electric pool roller if you have to stand next to it to make it work? By making the Vanguard solar pool reel remote controlled, you have the freedom to operate it from anywhere around the pool.
Using radio waves, the hand held keyfob transmits your desired winding direction at the touch of a button resulting in your pool cover being wound either in or out.
We have also built in an added safety feature such that the pool reel will always stop automatically each time you release either of the buttons.
Each key fob is programmed with a unique code along with the receiver in the pool reel, such that only your key fobs can operate your pool reel. Useful in case your neighbour also has a Vanguard Professional Pool Reel.
The receiver inside the pool reel enclosure forms the second half of the remote control solution. Unlike most, ours is designed to operate on a very, very tiny amount of energy. This is essential. A power hungry receiver, commonly found in many other electric swimming pool rollers, will quickly flatten the main battery. Don't worry though, we've thought of that and designed the problem away using nano-watt technology that keeps the power consumption down to the absolute bare minimum.

Each keyfob uses 1x 23A standard battery available worldwide.
Each pool reel comes with 2 key fobs (inc batteries).
The Vanguard Professional uses remote control operation as standard, so you can operate the reel from anywhere on the swimming pool deck.
Being remote control allows you to stop the cover winding at any time and from anywhere on the pool deck.
Nobody plans to have a child jump in the pool just as your putting the cover on, however it can happen. Simply release the key fob button and the cover will always stop.
So that the receiver can be permanently listening out for a key fob button press, we use low power nano-watt technology which doesn't unduly drain the battery.
