Technical Specification
EPDM is a co-polymere of ethylene and propylene.
Advantages of EPDM (ethilene-propylene diene monomer)
- High elasticity (500 %)
- High resistance to ultraviolet radiation from the sun (1 billion m² already installed !)
- High resistance to ozone
- High tear-resistance
- Resistant to low and high temperatures (- 59°C to + 150°C)
- Maintenance-free (corrosion is impossible)
- You can stand on it
- Any tears are easy to repair

Advantages of solar energy
- Using solar energy doesn't aggravate the greenhouse-effect (no CO² production)
- The most effective energy conversion possible (80 %): sunlight into heat
- The most durable form of energy
- Free of charge for another 5 billion years
- The use of solar energy doesn't require accumulation of energy, because the water is heated directly and an outdoor swimming pool (pond) is used when there's plenty of sunshine
- Thermal, synthetic solar panels are very cheap
- The swimming-season is twice as long
- You'll be more inclined to swim outdoors, because of the higher temperature (average +8 Cº !)
Advantages of the POOLSOLAR EPDM-Mat
- Very easy to install, on any surface
- Less water and dirt is left behind on the absorber when installed on a horizontal surface, because of the high globular connection between the tubes and the small water drainage holes
- These mats are best installed vertically on an inclined roof , so that dirt (leaves, sand etc.) can't get left behind between the ribs. When installed horizontally, the mats demonstrate improved stability. (Usually the mats are installed horizontally on a roof)
- The different mats are clicked (put) together as a whole so they can't be lifted by the wind
- This is more aesthetic and more efficient
Resistant to:
excellent resistance to heat and oxidation (ex. chlorine)
Very good resistance to steam and hot water
A very frequently used material for:
standard rubber seals, it is frequently used in the chemical industry, and has a wide resistance-spectrum.

Absorber weight:
without water: 3,3 kg / m²
filled with water: 6,6 kg / m²
Manifolds of Polypropylene
Manifolds (headers) are made of Polypropylene, to prevent frost problems in winter. We suggest you empty the water before the winter. You can’t glue the headers of polypropylene, but you have to use o-rings for waterproof connections and special connection parts in ABS to glue your pvc tubes.
